About the work:
"Moss and Other Things" is a piece about the vibrancy and persistence of life and the coexistence and entwinement of that vibrancy with decay and death. In life's awe invoking moments of transcendence I bump up against the vastness of all we do not understand. We are all soft earthly creatures, simultaneously fragile and ferocious, part of gentle, gorgeous, expansive landscapes as well as the molten, violent core of the Earth. This work offers a meditation on the coexistence of creation and destruction, of arrivals and departures, and the ways in which our bodies and minds are also the sites of these dichotomies.
It's also my way of grieving, meeting a need for connection, and an attempt to honor the rigorous effort and joy of living.

"Autumn Wind, Weeps" will be presented in the East Village Film Festival on Sunday July 27th at 10 pm at UNDER St Marks 94 St Marks Pl, New York (between First Avenue and Avenue A).
Congrats Ezekiel Honig for your recognition of Best Original Song, "Unseeing the Edits" with vocals by Trevor De
The video project is a collaboration with Todd Shimoda, Ching-I Chang and Ezekiel Honig and was created as a book trailer for Todd’s novel, Autumn Wind, Weeps. The piece was shot at Bill Young’s loft and various locations in the East Village and LES, as well as Honolulu HI. "Pulsing with intrigue, and full of provocative ideas, Autumn Wind, Weeps alternates between computer programmer Gina Ono's reach for the pinnacle of artificial intelligence, and a wandering poet of five hundred years ago, Akikaze, who is searching for poetic luminosity. If the two worlds collide, like matter and antimatter, they will explode". The main character, Gina Ono is performed by Ching-I Chang (shown below).
I will be in Annie Wang’s work!
